Evolution of community (In lines of Druv Gaimi's thought)

The objective of the Linux users meeting as I understand is a meeting of Linux enthusiast, sharing their experience and helping in increasing the common knowledge of the community.

For successful funtioning of any organisation we should have clear mandate/objective, once we start diluting that it will lead to confusion. One of the success of Linus Trovalds is mainly because he clearly sticks to technology and core of Linux and doesnt get into distro, meets, business etc.

Spending 3-4 hrs on sunday is exteremly precious time, this sunday Linux meet was more like a conference. One of rules of the meeting should be that people coming to meet should represent as an individual and he/she working in a company should be incidental. Persons leading the meet (chairperson of that single meetto be fixed and should be rotated) should hold more responsibility for over all efficiency of the meeting.

Every meeting should follow a rough template

1hr - 30 min 30 min 2 two talks (A personal experience/knowledge sharing only, to fixed before hand)

2 hrs - top three tech issue discussion (to be fixed before hand)

1 hr - Open house

Refreshments

folks there is always room for improvements.

Cheers

Ananth
