Ditto > > for 0091-11-6285911. > > 11 is the code for delhi. 91 is the international code for India. So a phone > no. in Delhi would be +91-11-xxxxxxx, while for Mumbai it would be > +91-22-xxxxxxx > > The + signifies whatever code you have to dial for an international call > from your country / Telecom. Exactly > Actually we have to dial 0 for STD dialling and 00 for international call as > for the moment. That is why some intelligent people write their nos as > 0091-11-6285911. Which contradicts what you said above. Assuming that you would give the '91' to people abroad, isn't it pointless to tell them what MTNL's access number for ISD is? eg, if I dial 0091116285911, I will get US, Area Code 116, Exchange 285, local number 911. In effect, putting the 00 in front is useful only if the caller is in India, at which point, hopefully, you don't need ISD anyway. -- Sanjeev ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header.
