The linux client is horrible, it exits if there is any problem on the wire, so you have to manually restart it everytime. Bandwidth choking(where a fixed bandwidth is allocated to every subscriber regardless of whether any other subscriber is online), traffic log, etc. are all based on squid itself. But then maybe not, regardless of the time of the day I never get over 16kbps while FTP either.
