I'm sorry that I wasn't clearer in my reply, but I agree completely. Hence my claim that it's "interesting". Frankly, similar to most hacks, there are no really good reasons for NAT, but it seems for many an easy way to solve a near-term problem. I think it's good that the implications are now becoming more clear to so many.

As had been repeatedly pointed out, this is a totally bogus argument
for NAT. Filtering routers were around long before NAT, and protect
systems against intrusion just as well as NAT.
