it would be workable.

Moreover, it is an interesting tour de force.

Since 1) most batch COBOL is I/O-bound and 2) CICS APs written in
procedural languages spend most of their time in 'CICS-specific
activities', it is not, however,  clear to me that making the residuum
zXXP-eligible will yield significant software-cost reductions.
