Do you know how big this thing is?
Yes. I've taken measurements of the one I'm looking at, and I think I'll
be able to fit it. It will be a squeeze, but I think I'll be able to
make it happen.
And you need AFP Software
This is my concern. Does it require AFP to operate at all? Even as a
basic line printer? If so, is there any "advantage" to a channel
attached 4000 over a TCP/IP printer in terms of native z/OS integration?
Thank you,
Enzo Damato

Subject Infoprint 4000
Hi all,
I'm looking at getting a channel-attach Infoprint 4000 for my
lab/shop, but I haven't been able to find much information about
their use and configuration online, and z/OS printing isn't my
strongest area. I know that these are really intended for bulk
printing of forms and similar things, but I want to use it as a HASP
spool printer - like a really fast 1403 - to print job output. I was
hoping that someone who might have a bit more experience with one of
these machines might be able to give me any warnings I should have
about this model, along with some background about what the software
setup and configuration is like.
Thank you,
Enzo Damato
