And MVS was proudly described as "the FIRST POSIX-certified system", whatever 
that means (not dissing/arguing with it, just sayin' that, like most things, it 
probably has some nuances). Which made and still makes me laugh, since of 
course then (as, to some extent, now) that part of the universe reviled IBM.

Originally there were two Unix certifications: POSIX was IEEE and adopted as a 
FIPS while the other was from what  is now The Open Group. I believe that the 
two specifications have merged.
