Very well articulated Phil. Most of the banks in the country I live run 70% of 
there transactions on  distribured systems in response to disruptive 
technologies like mobile banking increasing their MLC. Read heavy so they use 
an architectural patten call CQRS l. UBN have recently announced a Z soliutuon 
to try to keep customers in platform
