Personally I think z/OSMF is a big step in the wrong direction for IBM, especially since they made it a the only choice. Before them it was also pretty much just a single choice, but you had a lot of flexibility that you no longer have with the newer method. There appears to be no good reason to discontinue ServerPac and for the small boxes, z/OSMF is excruciatingly slow.
