Matthias, there is a distinct difference between you and I and how we operate. You see, when I dish out an ad hominem attack (Such as making reference to the "idiocy" of Matthias posts past.) I still have the decency to address the apparent essence of the person's non ad hominem arguments - That is I read around the rudeness and address the remaining valid points that ought to be addressed.
You on the other hand simply turn around and say, "Ermahgawd, Leon called me an idiot, this indicates he's a troll and I'm going to ignore his potentially valid arguments!" when it really does not and instead makes you look like your clutching at straws. What my use of the term idiocy indicates is that I, like others I suspect, continue to be frustrated by this petty vandetta against advertising some respondents have in a discussion that was supposed to be about the default Quickplay pools. I think my response amply demonstrates that the change in default Quickplay pools was not about advertising nor would changing the advertising status-quo actually help due to the existence of alternative solutions already in place. Finally, please do not misrepresent my stance on advertising, as it is a extremely scummy thing to do and again diminishes your credibility. At no point did I say that "ads are the main point of community servers' bad rep." or anything of that nature. The closest thing I said to that was that it was the dubious deployment and configuration of adverts that polarised a vocal minority against the use of advertising, rather than advertising in itself. This statement makes no comparison of how advertising ranks in respect to other reasons players may have to dislike community servers, nor does it suggest or state that there is any problem with the sensible deployment of advertising on community servers - In fact it only serves to encourage the sensible use of advertising in the given context.
