Forum: CFEngine Help Subject: Re: Do I really have to restart cfengine3 after changing promises.cf? Author: neilhwatson Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,27637,27640#msg-27640
Policy files, inculding promsies.cf, do not get downloaded to the client. The client downloads them from the policy servers. This is an important distinction. See here: http://cfengine.com/manuals/cf3-conceptguide#The-policy-decision-flow > I see promises in failsafe.cf that start CFEngine's processes, but none that > re-start them. As I said, later versions do not require this. They must have removed it. I spoke from experience, that sometimes it is safer to restart. I do this in my own failsafe.cf files. _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
