Hi all The discussion is turning out interesting. If anything, I am happy I helped spicing it up ;)

That's pretty weak. No The fact that it was puppet-ish, and that it was an implementation of something that was already there, rang a bell. I couldn't make my feelings less foggy, but thanks God there was someone who had a clearer picture than me. > More than one way to accomplish a goal? You must hate Perl then. I *love* Perl. What makes shivers in my spine about Perl is the same that does it for cfengine: even the most authoritative people in the community seem not to dominate it completely. E.g., I am always amazed when I see people like Aleksei, or Neil, or J.Clark (yesterday on Twitter) ask about or discover functionalities they didn't know, or they expected to work differently. In a sense, no one seems to dominate the tool in full. Adding another way to do something that's already there won't help in that respect. But I see, and (surprisingly) share, the point in Diego's "rant". Once again, Diego explains cfengine far better than cfengine's authors themselves :-D Ciao! -- bronto _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
