The only limit is the amount of memory (and to some extent cpu) you have to handle the load. In practice, the network contention might play a role also. It is very difficult to meaningfully stress test the server, as the environment is the main limitation in most cases. We expect several thousand hosts to be supportable with a single hub, spread over five minute update intervals.
