I think it should be hosted on CFengine (make it official). I didn't like github at all. If I have to think about how to get what I need, it is already too complicated. SVN is ViewCC is okay, but there has to be something better. I half-remember seeing some code snippet web page that I did like it, I just can't remember. I will have to re-find that.
