This is your personal preference and nobody is going to alter your way of working. The concepts you visualize gets conceived when you start replicating it. xMate remained an integral part of my development cycle and its actions are imprinted into my sub-consciousness. I am really sorry to hear about so ridiculous comments about xMate. I would suggest you just to give it a try before repeatedly shouting against it. What is the standard in selections and cut/copy/paste ? MS Word ? Or any other editor ? The standard is/was already there in Qt and correspondingly in hbIDE. The complexity peeped into first when "column" selection came into play. It further increased when "persistency" concept was introduced. And this all was to be implemented on top of API that does not support "column" selections AT ALL. There is no editor in the market, based on Qt, which provides the "column" selection as is presently in hbIDE. Line selection mode is relatively easy so every editor can implement. "Keyboard Mappings" is the way to configure your environments per your tastes. Tell me if something is missing on that front ? Mindaugas has shown a way to extend it but I am short how to compile as a code block via macro compiler. ----- enjoy hbIDEing...
