I've updated to latest Wine on OS X (previous version was few weeks
old),
and now cmd prompt works okay (now colors are ugly but at least
visible),
and it still can't run DOS executables, but it can run Win16
application,
in more or less usable way. I have only one Win16 app on my HDD, so it's
not a thorough test.
Few important Win32 apps like Far Manager, foobar2000 work about ok, but
it didn't test them in "production". Maybe one day I can replace my
native Win installations with it, saving lot of memory (and replacing
one sort of headache with other kinds :).

I didn't emphasis that in my first mail (sorry for that), but
my host OS is Mac OS X, so I'm interested in finding solution
for this platform.
After dumping my Windows machine (after it broke) I've fully
moved to OS X as a host platform and running XP 64-bit in
a VMWare Fusion VM. BTW I managed to fix the broken Windows
machine, but decided to dump it anyway.

You can edit this file with normal text linux editor or use
wineconf.
If the folder is in another machine, before activate the NFS
daemon.
and mount the folder in the current machine from the another like
in
windows
I'm interested networking in FreeDOS under VMWare configuration.
For wine it's working fine (but it doesn't support DOS).
