Hi Guix, I did a quick count of replies (please, correct me if I’m wrong):
- 45 support (codeberg + email)
- 5 accept (email)
- 1 disapprove (email)
Currently, as for the teams.scm file, we have 90 members. Among the
56% of replies (not bad), we have a 98 % of positive feedback on the
final draft. Not bad at all.
Therefore, applying GCD 001:
The GCD is *accepted* if (1) at least 25% of all team members–as of the
start of the “Deliberation Period”–send a reply, and (2) no one
disapproves. In other cases, the GCD is *withdrawn*.
So GCD 008 is withdrawn.
In a personal concluding note, I find that the large consensus reached
in favour of this GCD, even when the departing positions where
radically orthogonal, is a sign of maturity within the community.
Great thanks to all participants, good job: reading your opinions
during last months have been really enlightening for me. Also, the
time it took to converge towards the final draft is a clear indication on the
importance of this document on the governance of Guix, most people
will agree on the need for keeping clear guidelines to avoid the
existing ambiguity on the current status quo. Huge thanks to
Ludovic for all of his efforts and the time he put towards the final
consensus we have reached.
I personally find that the outcome of GCD 008 is best understood in
the context of GCD 007 [0]. Keeping this in mind, and with the aim of
moving forward, maybe we should concentrate our efforts on redefining
GCD 001 itself.
Best,
