Please keep in mind that the ability to allow pages *and* desks at the same time is by far the most excellent feature of FWVM. Since August 2010, I use this feature every day: - 4x3 pages per desktop - 4x3x3 desktops for each physical machine, virtual machine and logged in user This leads to 432 'screens' (12x12x3) for one session and allows to distribute all the applications, a lot of different work and different topics on several desks to organize them at the same time. Other window managers and desktop environments dropped this feature, which made FVWM more unique with each 'manager' that dropped it. So, this is *my* point of view about the question whether having pages *and* desks make sense anymore. Yes! It still does. (Your context is 'Separate desktops per monitor', but since I don't fully understand the consequences of your possible TODOs, I just felt it was necessary to give this feedback in this early stage of your work.)
