DEFINITIVELY NOT! It seems that since some time there exists a kernel hanging around with rumored capabilities "WfW 3.11 compatible kernel and related tools" but nowhere to be seen in the wild. I have no idea why not everybody else is able to look at the source changes, and test the binary, as this kernel (and this kernel alone + possibly some config.sys changes) can easily be broadcast to millions of testers without any problem. Where are all these testers and their expreriences? Are there known problems and workarounds? etc. etc. The probability that our beloved coder (for some reason known as Perdition) gets everything right in all contexts on HIMEM/EMM386/HXDOS/..., in the context of DOS LAN-MANAGER, divers package drivers, sound card emulators, and what not is exactly 0%, unless he did little but test this kernel the last 5 years. Putting this new kernel as a first of light into a new FreeDOS package is exactly kernel 1.37(unstable) reloaded. After thsi kernel is **STABLE** put it into a freedos package and call it 1.4 or call it 1.4 because Fritz Mueller fixed a spelling bug in the turkish helpfile for EDLIN, I don't care Tom _______________________________________________ Freedos-user mailing list Freedos-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
