Then I apologize for the speculation. Thought I still cannot find any
announcement by the CC that the thread in question was blocked.

Moderator powers give you access to privileged information and also
imply certain duties. One which is that you do not use that information
for private purposes, which is exactly what you did.

As you apparently do not even see the distinction between your role as a
moderator and a private person, this just reinforces my conviction that
you should not have moderator powers.
