Okay, a look for the "I already done that". Have doubled checked that the usb cable is fully connected to the printed and the computer? I know, but I have went on several jobs when the individual simply did not fully seat the connection.
The usb set in the computer BIOS? Does the printer work on another machine, say that other OS, Windows? Not sure if this command is in 8.1 but try: /usr/sbin/lsusb , what is the readout? Larry D. R.
