Foe those who don't know, the windoze driver that handles the HD
filesystems was kludged shortly before FAT32 was foisted upon the
public. For post-FAT32 windoze 9x/ME to work right on any HD larger than
8 Gb that has on it any file system it is supposed to access other than
C:, the extended partition type *must* be 0Fh for reliable operation. If
you have a FAT16B or FAT32 logical partition inside of a standard 05h
extended, the probable result of creating a new table with Linux or any
other partitioning tool besides windoze FDISK or Partition Magic, it is
only a matter of time before windoze presents you with serious HD
trouble.
