Foe those who don't know, the windoze driver that handles the HD filesystems was kludged shortly before FAT32 was foisted upon the public. For post-FAT32 windoze 9x/ME to work right on any HD larger than 8 Gb that has on it any file system it is supposed to access other than C:, the extended partition type *must* be 0Fh for reliable operation.
