I installed 8.1 Beta3 using Ext3 on all partitions.
/boot,/, and /home

Starting kde or gnome seems to be a little sluggish
but this could be a factor of the Beta itself rather
than the FS.

Because this is a Beta not everything works as it should
so it has been necessary for me to do the 1 finger shutdown
on a couple of occasions.
The Ext3 had no problem handling it and there was no waiting
for fsck to complete as with ext2.

Overall I am pleased with the performance of Ext3 and plan
to continue using it.
