I'm trying to run SANE on a brand new 6.1 installation. I can't find any
instructions on what to do except the tutorial on the SANE web site. That
tells you how to install it, but presumably that was done when I installed
the RPMs as part of system installation.

When I run "scanimage --list-devices -v" as root, I get a core dump. When
I run it as a user, nothing appears to happen.

root@charlesc # cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
....

Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 04 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: C1537A Rev: L708
Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02

First question, how do I map that to a device?

Second, do I need to launch the sane daemon or do anything else?

Third, is this the sort of question I can address to Installation Support,
and if so will they answer it?
