I am repeating my query about the following.

I've been dealing with this by unchecking Personal in the second
appearance of "On this computer".  Unfortunately, it keeps cropping up
again, for reasons I don't understand.

The links say it can be fixed by editing the appropriate entry(ies)
under .gconf,  but they aren't very specific.  Apparently I have to edit
one or more of the xml files %gconf.xml,  and I don't understand the
syntax well enough to do that.

If the next version of evolution is due to be out soon,  I will just
wait,  but if that will take a while,  I wonder if you could refer me to
explicit editing instructions.
