I don't own a Tesla, so I can't speak to them specifically. However, back in Ohio I seldom had such freeze-up problems with cars until temperatures fell closer to 0 deg F. A gently deployed heat gun generally solved them. I'd be hesitant to use hot water - it would just freeze again.
