In 1992/3, Ford built some 80+ Ecostar vans using a molten Sodium Sulphur battery. These were based on the European version of the MK3 Escort, which was commonly available in a van version.
Someone in the American EV community gpt hold of one of these and I was helping them out with sourcing parts (like bumpers and a windscreen) that weren't the same as the US version. I can remember them telling me that they always had people coming up to ask about the van. Very few cared that it was electric, they mostly wanted to know how they could get hold of such a useful vehicle as a small van based on a car.
