I agree, Peri. Mandates are a way to get manufacturers to change. That's how we got seat belts, pollution controls, better fuel economy, etc. Otherwise, they would only change something if it increased profits.

I suspect that raw materials won't be a long-term problem once we start conserving and recycling them. But for now, the attitude is still to waste them, then throw them away and mine new. That won't last.

I think David hit on the "loophole" in the CA mandate. Petrol-heads will just buy their ICEs in neighboring states. None of us will live long enough to see the end of ICEs.
