If you can't stick sheets of plywood or drywall in there with the tailgate up, it ain't no pickup truck! If it won't carry two yards of manure, it ain't no pickup truck! My Dodge is actually about 4" longer than 8' — long enough to hold a bag of nails or some spackle after loading up with plywood or drywall. Note I said plural: "sheets." One sheet will stay put. Multiple sheets tend to develop an air bearing on bumps, and the top ones can slide out going up a hill, unless the tailgate is up. I've often arrived to find the top two or three sheets piled up against the tailgate. > It's supposed to have more room Inside and will seat six I think this is targeted toward the "suburban wanna-be," rather than people who need a real work truck. You don't need more than three people to hang drywall or to load/unload manure. You only need six seatbelts if the only "hauling" you do is haling kids to soccer practice. That said, it's a good start, and will help dispel the common thought that electric is impractical for anything besides passenger cars. :::: That is the key to history. Terrific energy is expended -- civilizations are built up -- excellent institutions devised; but each time something goes wrong. Some fatal flaw always brings the selfish and cruel people to the top, and then it all slides back into misery and ruin. In fact, the machine conks. It seems to start up all right and runs a few yards, and then it breaks down. -- C. S.
