Hi Pln!! I really enjoyed these topics you've proposed.
Joining this discussion about state school and private school and aswering some questions. Since I live in Brazil too, the question about unsafety at state schools is really scaring here. Coincidently, this morning I saw in the news that some students from state school here in Sao Paulo were threatening a teacher to kill her and kidnap her children. After that, she was unable to teach fearing these students atack. Besides that, it's very common to see cases of drug-dealers, students carrying guns in their backpacks and so forth. Concerning the question about how much is paid for a state teacher, I don't have this information but I know they are not well paid. Maybe there is a brazilian teacher here in the group who will be able to inform us.
