I remember when the Vim list hummed - no longer. And forget mutt & procmail. Local Linux user group lists are totally dead. There may be fora, but that's not something I'm switching to after all these decades - even if you didn't have to log in - that I don't do either. Traffic on the Kicad list is light, but like here, it's just great to have lotsa oltimer experts there if ya holler. Not doing much machining here these days, but the off-grid build now has 27 kW of rooftop panels and 46 kWh of battery, so the mill and lathe can run day or night. (12 kW from the battery inverters alone.) Have just bought a MIG welder - need to learn to drive it, to weld up rails & trolley for a little sawmill - there's a tractor shed to build, and timber isn't as cheap (or as good) as it used to be.
