Pulled the hard ptfe tubeing out of its built-in shark bite, plugged it into the old heat sink and held it up to the mounting screws and it came eaxctly into contact with the drive gears. plugged it into the guide tunnel leading to the gears and it fit closer to the gears than it did with their hot end on it. Gears still turn just fine. So its on and laying down bright blue plastic after re-leveling the bed cuz the OEM nozzle is about .3mm shorter. Until something else happens, I'm a happy camper that needs more sleep.
Short night with the window problem, took me about 2 hours to round up the tools to cut a 1" sheet of foam board and get it covered again.
