No, because the SMI patch is dangerous, and is not something to be
installed by default.

However, it makes my old dual Xeon box usable, and it hasn't caused
any obvious problems.

It is easy to test, you just need to edit rtapi.conf as directed and
then try the latency test. It's probably a good idea to keep an eye on
CPU and peripheral chip temperatures though.
