He never said what he is running.  It might well be a large machining
center where 160V and 20A makes perfect sense.  Besides, the 20A is
probably a peak rating, not continuous.

Likewise, 120ipm might be plenty on a Bridgeport sized machine, but will
seem very slow if you have a 10 foot long table.
