No wonder - it's sorta like writing Avogadro's number like this: 602300000000000000000000 (not sure I got the right number of zeroes either). Maybe LaTeX should introduce scientific notation: \sub^3section and \sub^4section Tongue-firmly-in-cheek-ly yours, Nick
