to close this thread.

You have following alternatives:
 >
5. Add

(put 'org-latex-table-scientific-notation 'safe-local-variable #'string- or-null-p)

to init.el and then using it as a local variable in your file. You should not receive further messages.
I adopted that. Thanks.

When your patch (https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs- orgmode/2026-10/msg00159.html) will be applied, I will try to build Emacs with master org-mode.
Ok, I did the tests. I downloaded Emacs master in emacs-master/ folder. Then clone ORG:

  git clone https://https.git.savannah.gnu.org/git/emacs/org-mode.git

in org-mode/ folder. Then I synchronized the folders

  rsync -avc org-mode/ emacs-master/

and built Emacs. In short, the result for scientific notation DOES NOT work.

1. I restored my original init.el commenting out

(put 'org-latex-table-scientific-notation 'safe-local-variable #'string-or-null-p)

but starting Emacs asks

The local variables list in sol.es15.org
or .dir-locals.el contains values that may not be safe (*).

Do you want to apply it? You can type
y -- to apply the local variables list.
n -- to ignore the local variables list.
! -- to apply the local variables list, and permanently mark these
values (*) as safe (in the future, they will be set automatically.)
i -- to ignore the local variables list, and permanently mark these
      values (*) as ignored

  * org-latex-table-scientific-notation : "\\num{%se%s}"

for each buffer which has

# Local variables:
# org-latex-table-scientific-notation: "\\num{%se%s}"
# End:

but C-c C-e l p produces a good PDF.

2. I removed

# Local variables:
# org-latex-table-scientific-notation: "\\num{%se%s}"
# End:

from all buffers and added "#+LATEX_TABLE_SCI_NOTATION: \\num{%se%s}" (see the test case below) and restarted Emacs but C-c C-e l p produces a *very* bad PDF. The table has just a single column with, literally,

 num3.00e+00
 num68.0e+00
 num2.00e+00
 num3.81e+12

Now the test case I used:
