You've already upgraded to a software defined radio why be so afraid of clicking a few buttons on the computer to reconfigure it for whatever user or condition that you're going to be in? If one was able to create a simple differential config file you could probably change operators configurations within a few seconds.
My whole point surely?
Maybe a little longer if you were including voice keyer memories in that list as well (which would be handy for contest type situations such as field day). But anyway the point is at some point in time it becomes a space issue.
I really do not understand why you are getting concerned about this Brett. The actual storage is done on the Pc, not the K3. granted there will be a few more lines of code but I cannot see it as a problem. As I see it, that issue is down to Elecraft. They tell us that there is plenty of room so that is fine by me.
Next thing people will be asking for biometric scanners so that each user can log into the radio to load their settings.
Now there's an idea.... what about it guys? ;-)
