Yes Luis, I agree. "Magic" is a good way of putting it. Of course 3dB (or a bit more if compression is being used) isn't huge but as you said it's for free. With no distortion or other disadvantages. I recommend to my users to leave it switched on all the time, there is no point having it switched off!
