CESSB surprised me. When I first heard of it, I figured it was just another marketing name for a compressor or RF Clipper.
I looked into it. Hmmm... Then I used it... Frankly, if the Elecraft implementation is anywhere near the Flex Radio implementation, you will leave it on all the time. Its like having a ~3db amplifier for free. CESSB really is technology indistinguishable from magic. I once met Dave W9GR at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) convention.
