Yes, Outreachy works fairly similarly to GSoC during the mentorship part.
I’ve been mentoring in it over in the Jenkins project the past several
months where we’ve also been doing GSoC for a while as well. You can also
sometimes get a “free” intern if the Outreachy general fund can afford
giving you one; otherwise, each internship position needs directed funding.
