As Doug noted multicast needs to be enabled on every router along the path. A lot of routers don't have it on anymore. I was at a SAGA-AU meeting once when it was suggested that the key problem was the volume charging multicast traffic was difficult, and that this was why so many ISPs had it disabled. Haing said that, as well as my earlier experiences with multicast (somewhere in 92-94) I've also attended SAGE-AU meetings in recent years that were broadcast over multicast between various sites across Australia, so some ISPs clearly do have it enabled :) Rob -- Email: rob...@timetraveller.org IRC: Solver Web: http://www.practicalsysadmin.com Open Source: The revolution that silently changed the world _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lopsa.org http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
