I can safely say I don't ever use the PrintScreen button, as it doesn't
exist on my mac.

But the mac is not the only place where I do virtualization ... and even on
systems that doe have a PrintScreen button ... Virtualbox doesn't allow you
to arbitrarily select any key you wish. The options are:
        F-keys
        Windows key (aka "super" key)
        Application key (aka "right-click" key)
        Numlock
        Pause
        Right shift
        Right ctrl
        Right alt
        Left shift
        Left ctrl
        Left alt

(Notice, PrintScreen is not an option.) For me, the only possibility would
be the Pause key, which unfortunately doesn't exist on my laptop keyboard.

But thanks for raising the question. I had some doubts about this myself,
until you asked, and I put in the effort to look up all the above.

I don't know about vSphere. I use VMWare Workstation, which allows you to
customize ... and I use Fusion, which allows you to customize ... and
Parallels also does ... And those are all the platforms I use.
