Tooth brushing not required for healthy teeth. But it definitely helps the odds. I know several people who either don't have, or didn't need to get a degree, to become an IT person or sysadmin. After a couple of years work experience, your work experience counts more than your school, but there are various barriers that are easier to overcome with your degree - Initially entering the workforce is one. Various forms of promotions, or starting your own company, is another. I am currently 38 yrs old, have been doing tech work successfully for 16 years, fully employed right now, and going back to get my PhD right now. Because there are some papers or books I have to write, that will be more easily taken seriously, if the author has a PhD. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
