Short, (1-day), inexpensive... the same sort of conference that LOPSA was supporting (but which - let's be clear - were being run by locals, not by the national org). LOPSA-East and CasIT could - in theory - get their support from USENIX (who has significant bargaining power around hotels, etc., more-so than either LOPSA or a LOPSA local chapter would).
