Hello!

Sourceforge is free, so, to cover costs they do just like every other company, they have adverts in the page (and also in e-mails since I am involved in projects there too and see them).

What happens is that sometimes the adverts lead to viruses and alike, since the company doesn't control 100% what the paying advertisers place there.

That is why you should never click on banners.

If you notice carefully, when you are directed to Sourceforge for any download, it says something like: "Download begins in X seconds".

Just wait for the file selector to open and save the file safely.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards,

Hi OpenOffice,

I've been using your product for a while now without any problems.

HOWEVER:
Latest update directed me to Sourceforge.net. Page displayed a green
download button that was actually for ZIP7 software. That really screwed up
my system, installed a whole buch of adware, chrome toolbars and unwanted
programs. You should check it out.

Thanks,
Tony
