Hi all, I would like to volunteer to be the release manager for Iceberg 1.5.0.
We have decided to release 1.5.0 in Jan during the last community sync (as per our quarterly release cycle). Since today's community sync got cancelled (not sure why), I don't want to wait another 3 weeks to start the release process. Iceberg 1.5.0 milestone is already created https://github.com/apache/iceberg/milestone/37. If you would like to include your open PR for the 1.5.0 release, please add this milestone (please tag me if you don't have permission to add it). If we start the process by now, I hope we can have a release by the end of this month. Note: Iceberg views APIs are merged and few catalogs support it now. Query Engines (like Dremio, Trino) want to start integrating this. Hence, looking forward to the release. Thanks, Ajantha
