Do you really want to include so many new and therefore little tested changes in the new release? Why not make all those changes after the release instead, so that they get a bit of testing before getting included in the next release after? (In the end, you're the one doing the work so you just do what you feel is right, I'll be very happy so see a new release at all, but this plan strikes me as a bit odd so I just wanted to comment on that.)
