I don't know if it's pingable (don't have a machine to test with), but the music player daemon (mpd) keeps running even though X is hung. I'll set up a machine to ssh. How do I backtrace? The mouse doesn't work. > > Do you know when the bug appeared for the first time? I know I've been running lenny for some time without this issue, some is something that glx depends on (maybe the kernel drivers or x.org?) that are the problem. If the problem is not the libgl1-mesa-dri/gl package(s) please forward to the appropriate package(s). The video card is an ATI Radeo 8500 QL [r200] and I have the following /etc/drirc: <driconf> <device screen="0" driver="r200"> <application name="all"> <option name="allow_large_textures" value="2" /> </application> </device> </driconf> and xorg.conf: # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file) # # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using # values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the xorg.conf manual page. # (Type "man xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.) # # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only* # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg # package. # # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated # again, run the following command: # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Generic Keyboard" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbRules" "xorg" Option "XkbModel" "logiex110" Option "XkbLayout" "us" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Configured Mouse" Driver "mouse" Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true" EndSection Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "ati" Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "true" EndSection Section "Extensions" Option "Composite" "enable" EndSection Section "Monitor" Identifier "Configured Monitor" Option "DPMS" HorizSync 30-75 VertRefresh 50-85 DisplaySize 400 290 Option "PreferredMode" "1600x1200" EndSection Section "Screen" Identifier "Default Screen" Monitor "Configured Monitor" EndSection -- And that's my crabbing done for the day.
