If it is unstable, this may work, but I'd recommend using apt-get rather than aptitude for this many packages. And as David says, it isn't guaranteed to work at all. I've lost two old unstables, which could no doubt have been resurrected if I'd spent enough time, but it was easier to reinstall. -- Joe
