But I noticed that many Gnus users don't use the standard quote prefix. There must be a reason. BTW, the quote prefix can be changed in Mutt too (unfortunately), but very few users did change it. Perhaps because users need to read the manual and the manual strongly encourages not to change the default value. Gnus had other problems, but in the news this time: a multipart article just to change the charset (in fact, it wasn't even needed). Its user didn't even know he was posting articles in such a way.
